In 2004 Cultural Transmission Magazine began. I wrote then, "This is the first publication of Cultural Transmission and I am very excited about this magazine. In journalism the fourth phase of media output is cultural transmission, which is the passing on of information from one generation to another.

The idea seemed so right at a time of such haste and confusion compounded by an enormous amount of negativity to put together a magazine that was supportive to our growth, dreams and goals. In this fast paced society it is too easy to stay busy and not be involved with people that are in our community. It is too easy to be an employee and not be a neighbor. It is too easy to be a teacher and not be connected to the student. And it is too easy to be self absorbed and not mentor the youth of society with the stories of our successes and our failures.

There is inspiration in learning from others. There are ideas yet to be created and possibilities yet to ponder over. This is the excitement of life. I drew a creative blank for a long period of time, artistic purrogative or processes I guess, but finally the inspiration for this magazine started running around in my head, scribbled on my drawing table and over my computer screen.

I don’t know about all of you, but I am swamped anymore. I loose sight of what surrounds me and what is important in my day and into my night. There are times when I think I have a handle on multi-tasking all the events and responsibilities, but let’s get real here............... It’s an illusion.

I hope you are inspired. I want you to be involved with life, to not feel alone, trapped, worthless. Every story counts for there is another life in another phase somewhere that might just need that one part of a life experience or thought that inspires the greatest accomplishment that has every occurred.

Mentoring has been a hand holding process for some time and we support that but we are talking about thinking, imagination, pure obsessiveness for just no reason other than it was meant to be... I want you to be able to learn from others and to be involved with others and no longer have barriers between you and your dreams."
And today February 2007, I feel no different. I just hope that my computer skills can keep up with the ever changing Internet. Mass Communication should be for the masses. So we begin again......
